Hana I, graphite on Fabriano hot press paper, 12″ x 12″

Hana I

¶ Drawing
¶ November 2011

This is a small graphite drawing I did in preparation for Hana II, and is intended to be part of a series of portraits of ‘people from the future’. You can read more about the concept here.

An interesting detail is that Hana’s facial features have been intentionally mirrored. Her eyes, nose, lips and jaw are perfectly symmetrical, implying that she has evolved past the current limitations of the human body.
